At least 5 dead, 6 missing after China chemical plant blast
(VOVWORLD) -An explosion at a chemical plant in the eastern Chinese province of Shandong killed at least 5 people, with 19 injured and 6 missing.

The blast occurred Tuesday evening, shaking a chemical plant operated by Shandong Youdao Chemical in the city of Weifang.
Following the incident, the provincial government activated its emergency response mechanism, established a rescue command center, and directed search and rescue operations for the missing, treatment of the injured, and environmental monitoring. Search, rescue, and on-site cleanup efforts are still ongoing.
The Youdao Chemical company was established in August 2019. The company operates in the fields of goods import and export, technology import and export, pesticide production, production and trading of chemical products, and the manufacture of chemical materials.
