August Revolution and National Day marked overseas

(VOVworld) - The 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day (September 2) was marked in Indonesia, Cambodia, Russia and France with ceremonies held by the Vietnamese Embassies in the countries. At a ceremony in Jakarta, Indonesia, ambassador Nguyen Xuan Thuy highlighted the significance of the August Revolution and National Day and confirmed commitment by the Vietnamese government and people to develop Vietnam-Indonesia ties to a new height for the benefit of the two peoples and a united and developed ASEAN.

On Wednesday, Vietnamese ambassador to Russia Nguyen Thanh Son, embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association and the Russian Veterans Association offered incense and laid wreath at Ho Chi Minh Monument and Le Duan square in Moscow.

A ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day was held on Wednesday in France with Vietnamese representative offices, overseas Vietnamese and French friends participating. Vietnamese ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son, said: “Over the past 70 years, national pride has been firm foundation, creating great power of Vietnamese people in struggles for national independence and national construction. With the achievements gained after 30 years of renewal process, Vietnam has become a dynamic and developed country and proved to be reliable friend and partner and responsible member of the international community”.

Celebrations of 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day also took place in Egypt, Israel and Thailand.
