Offices, factories, schools, and colleges were open from 6AM GMT on Tuesday. PM Hasina, meanwhile, has landed at Hindon Air Base in a suburb of New Delhi and the Indian Air Force has heightened its alert in Indian airspace near the Bangladesh border. Security around the Bangladesh embassy in New Delhi has been increased. Train service to Bangladesh has been suspended.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security Monday night to discuss the situation in Bangladesh, while the European Union called for an “orderly and peaceful” transition to democratic rule in Bangladesh.
