(VOVworld) – The National External Information Service Contest 2016 was announced at a press conference at VOV’s headquarters in Hanoi on Tuesday.

The contest aims to honor reporters who have the best journalism products broadcast or published between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016.  

Candidates are Vietnamese people at home and abroad as well as foreigners.

Beside entities from traditional newspapers, radio and TV broadcasting, online newspapers, and press photos, this year’s contest will also be open to book publications.

Pham Van Linh, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission and the Central Steering Committee for External Information Services, said: “Book publication in regard of external communications has been added to this year’s award.”

Linh added: “We want to draw more attention and participation from authors and agencies both at home and abroad, through which to improve the quality of external communications activities and increase the links and exchanges among related bodies towards effectively spreading Party guidelines and Government policies.”

This year Voice of Vietnam will host the contest, the third of its kind. The awards ceremony will be held in May 2017.
