Binh warned that Vietnam is at high risk of infections via foreign entries as the pandemic is worsening in many other Asian countries.
He praised Dong Thap’s efforts, especially its strict control of the border and foreign arrivals. Binh urged local authorities to fight the coronavirus as if fighting an enemy and follow the Ministry of Health’s recommendations - wear a mask, disinfect your hands, keep a safe distance, avoid large gatherings, and make health declarations. The province was asked to raise awareness of the current threat, monitor all entries to Vietnam, inspect safety measures at hospitals, schools, supermarkets, and bus stations, and penalize violators.
