Vietnam, Czech Republic boost multifaceted cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam always values and wishes to strengthen relations with the Czech Republic, visiting Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan said during talks with President of the Czech Senate Milos Vystrcil on Thursday.

Madam Xuan asked Prague to encourage other EU countries to promptly ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and encourage the European Commission to lift the IUU "yellow card" imposed on Vietnamese seafood exports.

The two sides agreed to continue cooperation various fields including education, science, technology, and automobile manufacturing.

The two expressed their support for legislative delegation exchanges to share experience in law-making and oversight, and closely coordinating and supporting each other at inter-parliamentary forums.

At a meeting the same day, Vice President Xuan and President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel agreed to continue implementing the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), create favorable conditions for each other's goods in their market, and serve as a gateway for each other in the ASEAN and EU markets.

They pledged to support each other at multilateral forums and agreed that all disputes and conflicts should be resolved by peaceful means in accordance with the United Nations Charter and respect for international law.
