(VOVworld)- The Border Guard Academy under the Border Guard High Command has been conferred with the Military Exploit Order, First Class for its great contribution to the country’s revolutionary cause.
President Truong Tan Sang pinned the Order on the academy’s flag at a ceremony on Thursday on its 50^th founding anniversary. President Sang said the academy, as the training and research centre of the border guard force, has a great duty, together with the whole Party, people and armed forces, to unceasingly strengthen national defence and security, especially in the context of the complex developments in the region and the world.“Bringing into play its heroic tradition, the Academy needs to reform its training and research programs and methods allying it with the practical experience in the work and combat experience of the border guards. It is necessary to sustain the political stance, morality, professionalism, and legal expertise of our border soldiers”, said President Truong Tan Sang.

Since its establishment, the training facility, whose forerunner was the People’s Armed Police Officers School, has trained nearly 24,000 cadres and officers.
