Receiving Ambassador of Belarus to Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou on Wednesday in Hanoi, the President affirmed that Vietnam values the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Belarus, which has been nurtured by the leaders and people of the two countries since the Soviet era and been promoted over the past 30 years since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1992.

President To Lam applauded the results of cooperation between the two countries, including promoting the Intergovernmental Committee mechanism in implementing cooperation agreements and efforts to further cooperation in politics-diplomacy, economics-trade, investment, defense, security, science-technology, culture, education, and local cooperation.

Ambassador Baravikou affirmed that Belarus treasures the traditional friendship and cooperation with Vietnam and wishes to strengthen cooperation in all fields, especially in exchanges between the young generation of the two countries.

He agreed with the cooperation orientations proposed by the President, including the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, on all channels of the Party, State, Parliament and Youth Union as well as strengthening cooperation in people-to-people exchange, culture, and tourism, as the agreement between Vietnam and Belarus on visa exemption for ordinary passport holders began to take effect in December last year.

The ambassador pledged greater efforts to develop the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
