(VOVworld)- A dozen of events are to take place in celebration of Bac Kan province’s 20th anniversary.

The Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Pham Duy Hung, told the press on Thursday that the series of events from now until January 2^nd marked the political and cultural significance of the anniversary. He said these include the conference of an Independence Order, 1st class and exhibition of maps and documents confirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Spratly and Paracel archipelagoes:  “The 20th anniversary celebration will promote patriotism and deeper understanding of local history and culture. The events aim to encourage local people to boost production and construction for future development.”
