(VOVworld) - 51 outstanding cooperatives and cooperative groups and 17 individual farmers were honored at a ceremony in Hanoi Sunday night for their innovations in agricultural production.

The ceremony, which coincided with the 71st founding anniversary of Vietnam’s agriculture and rural development sector, was attended by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, and leaders of several ministries and sectors.

At the ceremony, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong said that the commendations reflect the ministry’s acknowledgement of the important role cooperatives, cooperative groups, and farmers play the national agriculture restructuring and new rural development.
