China, Japan urged to push forward post-pandemic cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - China and Japan have agreed to resume cooperation in the post-pandemic era, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said on Tuesday following a phone conversation with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

The two ministers said they would arrange a resumption of cross-border travel as soon as possible. Motegi raised maritime security issues, in particular the waters surrounding the Senkaku Islands, and strongly urged China’s cooperation. He also conveyed Japan’s concerns regarding Hong Kong’s new security law.
