(VOVworld) – South Korean President Park Geun Hye and Chinese Present Xi Jinping discussed denuclearization of the Korean peninsula at a meeting in Seoul on Thursday. The two leaders called for the resumption of six-party talks on North Korea’s nuclear program which have been stalled since 2008. Meanwhile, in a joint statement issued the same day, Beijing and Seoul agreed that denuclearizing and maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula are in the common interest of all the countries involved in the six-party talks. The statement called on all parties to resolve their differences through dialogue and negotiation.
