Chinese media outlets highlight Vietnamese top leader’s visit

People’s Daily front-paged top-level talks and meetings in Beijing on Monday between To Lam and Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, as well as between the Vietnamese leader and other Chinese leaders.

Chinese media reported that Chinese leaders consider Vietnam a “priority in China’s neighborhood diplomacy” and emphasize the need to concretize the common perception of building China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, consolidate the “six more” orientations. They include more political trust, more substantive defense-security cooperation, deeper substantive cooperation, firmer social foundation, closer multilateral coordination, and better control and resolution of disagreements.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning told the press on Monday that she believes Party General Secretary and President To Lam’s visit to China will strengthen cooperation and connectivity between the two countries and the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that will benefit both their peoples.
