The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified the suspect as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, who rammed the truck through the crowd in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
The FBI also found weapons, explosives and a flag of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization in the suspect's vehicle. Jabbar was killed while exchanging fire with police. The attacker was "100 % inspired by ISIS" and acted alone, according to the FBI.
