(VOVWORLD) - A groundbreaking ceremony for a 2 million USD project to preserve the Mo Muong cultural heritage was held in Hop Phong commune, the northwestern province of Hoa Binh, on Wednesday.

The project is a preservation space integrated with tourism services and will cover more than 36 hectares of land. It forms part of a plan to preserve and promote the cultural values of the Muong ethnic group and Hoa Binh province for the 2023-2030 period.
It's part of efforts to make the Mo Muong cultural heritage to be recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
Mo Muong of the Muong ethnic group is a crystallisation of labour experiences, cultural behaviour, and philosophy of life. It expresses a passionate love of life, people, and the homeland along with the spirit and character of the people and land of Hoa Binh.
