(VOVworld) – The UN Conference on Climate Change, COP-20, in Lima, Peru has extended for another day because the negotiators have unable to resolve differences for reducing carbon dioxide emissions between rich and poor nations.
The Conference, which was scheduled to conclude on December 12, had to convene for another day so the working group will finalize a document for a meeting in Paris, France next year. A new agreement would replace the Kyoto protocol until 2020, which binds the US and emerging economies including China to common efforts to reduce emissions, a main reason for global warming.
