COVID-19 basically under control nationwide

(VOVWORLD) - The COVID-19 pandemic has been gradually put under control across Vietnam, especially in hotbeds such as Ho Chi Minh City and its neighboring provinces of Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Long An, according to Sunday’s online conference of the Steering Committees for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said based on the outcomes of this meeting, the Government and the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control will make adjustments to ensure safe and flexible adaptation to and effective control of the pandemic, and recover and promote socio-economic development more efficiently, said PM Chinh.

He noted that epidemic response policies must be unified among all localities.
The shift towards safe and flexible adaptation and effective pandemic control is the right direction, Mr. Chinh said, stressing that the fourth wave of the pandemic has caused serious impacts on all aspects of life which requires more comprehensive, timely and effective solutions.
Vietnam’s GDP grew 1.42% in the past 9 months, after recording a decline of 6.17% in the third quarter compared to the same period last year.
