COVID-19: Vietnam records 8,537 new cases, a one-month low

(VOVWORLD) - From 5pm on Thursday to 5pm on Friday, Vietnam recorded 8,537 new infections, the lowest number of cases in more than a month, said the Ministry of Health.

The new cases included 7 imported cases and  8,530 locally-transmitted cases, down 935 cases compared to the previous day.

During the day, 12,371 patients recovered, 203 others died.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Vietnam has detected a total of 736,972 infections, ranking 46 of 222 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 155 of 222 countries and territories (on average, there are 7,489 infections for every 1 million people).
