Crown Prince of Denmark's visit to Vietnam opens up new opportunity

Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan on Monday, November 28, 2011 received Danish Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth, who are on an official visit to Vietnam to mark the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark. Doan said the visit will contribute to strengthening co-operation in many fields including climate change, environment, energy and green growth. She added this will also significant for the two countries’ businesses to seek new market opportunities and accelerate investment projects. Vice State President Doan and Crown Prince Frederik witnessed the signing of 4 co-operative documents on water supply and environmental hygiene in rural areas; marine reservation; ISO system and intellectual property rights services; and public management and administrative reform for 2012-2015 period.

The same day, State President Truong Tan Sang held talks with Crown Prince Frederik, saying that Vietnam is making efforts to shift to a new phase of development, which focuses on growth quality. Therefore, Vietnam needs to share experiences with developed countries, including Denmark. The President expressed his pleasure that bilateral relations between Vietnam and Denmark has been lifted to a strategic partnership. Crown Prince Frederik said that Denmark wants to share with Vietnam experiences in talent development and management. The Danish Crown Prince also expressed his impression of Vietnam’s land and people, and its achievements in social development and security.  He invited President Sang to visit Denmark.

During his visit, Crown Prince Frederik will attend the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Denmark diplomatic relations, the Vietnam-Denmark Business Forum and carry out several activities in HCM City.
