Defense Minister urges detoxification of dioxin contaminated land at Bien Hoa airport
(VOVWORLD) - Post-war dioxin treatment is an important task for Vietnam’s entire political system and helps boost national economic development, said Minister of National Defense General Ngo Xuan Lich.
He made the remarks at Friday’s meeting with a project management’s board in charge of detoxifying dioxin contaminated areas at Bien Hoa airport in Dong Nai province. Bien Hoa airport is considered one of the dioxin hot spots in the country with 52ha of dioxin contaminated land.
"The project’s pending issues include finance, technology, huge workload, and problems we have never encountered before. It’s necessary for us to seek solutions to all these matters. Consensus and close coordination are important to proceed with the project as soon as possible," said General Lich.
Earlier, General Ngo Xuan Lich paid a visit to Battalion 935, Division 370 of Vietnam’s air defense force.
