Deputy PM hails Japan as leading, long-term partner

(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said Japan is a long-term and important partner of Vietnam at a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Fundamental National Policies Ichiro Aisawa in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Dam said Vietnam attaches importance to and wishes to foster political trust and further deepen the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Japan. He hailed Japan’s support for Vietnam over the past 20 years, including ODA to Vietnam, which has contributed to Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements and poverty reduction. Improving healthcare quality is among Vietnam’s concerns, Dam told the guest, expressing his hope that more Vietnamese nurses will have an opportunity to be trained and employed in Japan within the framework of the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement. He said the Vietnamese government will continue to support Japanese companies in Vietnam and speed up realization of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Initiative to improve the business environment.
