Deputy PM Tran Luu Quang meets Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi

(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Tran Luu Quang met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi on Monday in Beijing within the framework of the official visit to China by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

The two sides discussed the situation of bilateral relations and international and regional issues of mutual concern, and agreed to promote and effectively implement the "Joint declaration on continuing to deepen and enhance the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a Vietnam-China Community with a shared future with strategic significance" as agreed by senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries.

They agreed to jointly implement high-level exchanges and contacts at all levels and sectors; work on defense and security cooperation activities; strengthen strategic connections, especially rail and road transport infrastructure; accelerate the opening/upgrading/recognition of border gate pairs, pilot construction of smart border gates, and facilitate Vietnamese goods transiting Chinese railways to third countries via the Asia-Europe railway.

Both sides consented to closely coordinate in border management and protection according to three legal documents on land borders and controlling disagreements at sea in line with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
