Domestic tourism revives, bookings for Reunification Day holiday soar - ảnh 1Da Nang city is ready for a surge of tourist arrival during the Reunification Day holiday.

Tourism agencies in Ho Chi Minh city have been busy in the past week. Some have stayed open late making tour reservations.

Huynh Phan Phuong Hoang, Deputy General Director of Vietravel, said, “After the pandemic, clients plan to travel in small groups for the upcoming holiday. Border closures as a COVID-19 safety measure has forced high-end users to shift from outbound tours to 5-star domestic services. We anticipated the trend and have launched new tours targeting those tourists.”

In Da Nang, travel companies have resumed their most popular tourism services.

According to Cao Chi Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, demand for the upcoming Reunification Day holiday is up significantly and almost the same as in 2019. Only 20% of travel companies were operational last year. This year, 70% are operational.

“Da Nang city is capable of accommodating 30 million tourists a year. We are confident that even with more domestic tourists coming here, when Vietnam is open for foreign tourists again, Da Nang will still be able to offer them the best services,” according to Dung.
