The measures, first imposed in 2014, were significantly expanded after February 2022. The sanctions include broad restrictions on trade, finance, energy, technology, dual-use goods, industry, transportation, and luxury goods, according to a statement from the Council.
The EU said it will keep the measures in place as long as Russia's actions continue, and added that it may impose additional sanctions, if necessary. The statement also confirmed the EU's continued commitment to supporting Ukraine.
