(VOVworld) - The European Union is keen on negotiating a comprehensive bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) with Vietnam.

European Trade Commission spokesperson John Clancy told reporters on Thursday that the EU wants to begin negotiations with Vietnam as early as possible, adding that the future interests of the EU and its partners demand a feasibility study into basic parameters and concrete goals for each area of the FTA negotiations. The EU and Vietnam will begin negotiations once preparations are completed.
