(VOVWORLD) - Millions of people across Vietnam joined countdown events to welcome the New Year 2026 on Wednesday night, sending wishes for national development, family happiness, and personal well-being.

Tens of thousands watched fireworks displays in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
In Quang Ninh Province, the art program “Quang Ninh – Discipline and Consensus, Shaping the Future” attracted around 50,000 spectators.
In Da Nang, the city organized for the first time the “Da Nang – Welcome the New Year” boulevard space. It also hosted a running event from 10:00 p.m. to midnight, drawing thousands of domestic and international athletes.
