(VOVworld) – Thoi dai (Times) newspaper has launched a new Chinese language web page. President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Vu Xuan Hong said this is the first ever Chinese-language web page designed to promote people-to-people diplomacy.

 The page, under VUFO’s management, aims to help foreign friends get to know Vietnam and to communicate the guidelines and policies of the Party and State during Vietnam’s renewal and integration.

At the launching ceremony in Hanoi on Monday, Le Quang Thien, editor-in- chief of the Times newspaper, said the web page demonstrates Vietnam’s love of peace as well as its determination to defend its sovereignty. The web page at Shidai.com.vn and Shidai.vn includes more than 80 sections about Vietnam’s land and people, relations between Vietnam and China, Vietnam’s sea and islands, and up-to-date news on Vietnam’s struggle to defend its sovereignty.
