He was invited by OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann and UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.

FM Son’s three proposals include: First, the OECD and countries need to strengthen policy coordination, limit barriers, protect trade and investment, build a seamless global trading system, which operate on the basis of the law, freedom, fairness, transparency, and inclusiveness with the World Trade Organization (WTO) at the center.

Second, the OECD, with its role as a policy consultant and global standard setter, continues to strengthen engagement and dialogue with developing countries and take into account the conditions and views of non-OECD countries in the process of formulating global policies and standards.

Third, the OECD continues to support developing countries to improve their competitiveness and position in global value chains, and effectively adapt to global policy adjustments, including global minimum taxes and cross-border carbon taxes. OECD helps bridge digital and technology gaps, train skills, and bring into full play the potential of female workers and small and medium enterprises, he suggested.

The Vietnamese delegation attended many sideline activities, including the OECD's Global Forum on Technology, a seminar on global tax policy evolution, and a discussion on implementation of the Global Minimum Tax.
