(VOVworld) – French President Francois Hollande said Tuesday that the canceled contract for two French Mistral helicopter carriers will not impede other contracts between France and Russia.

Mr Hollande, however, did not mention whether France will sell Russia any more warships. The Mistral contract would have been the biggest ever contract between France, a member of NATO, and Russia, but it was canceled due to tensions between Russia and the West over the Ukraine crisis. The Mistral warships will be sold to Egypt in March, 2016, under a new contract.
