France shares nuclear power experience with Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long had a working session with the French Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ASNR) and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) at the ASNR headquarters in Paris on Tuesday.

Deputy Minister Long is in France to accompany Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who is attending the United Nations Ocean Conference.  

At the meeting, Mr. Long said the Ministry of Industry and Trade wishes to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with France, in which cooperation in nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is one of the potential directions that needs to be strengthened. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation needs to support Vietnam in implementing its nuclear energy development plan.

Representatives of ASNR and ASN shared information and experience in operating and managing activities, policymaking to monitor nuclear energy implementation. They said they will cooperate with and support Vietnam in training human resources and transferring technology in nuclear energy.
