France's Azoulay wins UNESCO director general election
(VOVWORLD) - The United Nations’ cultural agency has selected France’s Audrey Azoulay as its new director general.

UNESCO’s executive board voted 30 to 28 in favor of Azoulay, a former French culture minister, against Qatar’s candidate.
Irina Bokava, the 10th UNESCO director general will leave the position next month. Nine candidates ran for the post in the 2017-2021 tenure.
