Friendship get-together celebrates Lunar New Year
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) and the Committee for Foreign Non-governmental Organization Affairs (COMINGO) have co-hosted a get-together to celebrate the Lunar New Year (Tet).
Addressing the event in Hanoi on Tuesday, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh reviewed Vietnam’s outstanding achievements which she said were partially attributed to the support and assistance from diplomatic corps and international and non-governmental organizations in Vietnam.
"On behalf of the Vietnamese State leaders, I would like to thank you all for your valuable support, which is a great source of encouragement for the Vietnamese people on our path to build a prosperous and happy nation.", said Ms. Thinh.
Ambassador of Venezuela to Vietnam Jorge Rondon Uzcategui said the meeting is a great opportunity to boost solidarity and friendship among nations. 2017 was a successful year for Vietnam with its hosting of the APEC Year. The ambassador expressed his belief that 2018 will be a successful year of solidarity, friendship, and exchanges between the Vietnamese people and the rest of the world.
