Friendship Order presented to former IPU Secretary General
(VOVWORLD) - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man presented the State President’s Friendship Order to former Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Anders Johnsson at a ceremony in Hanoi on Sunday.

The honor is a recognition of Johnsson’s substantive and effective contributions to relations between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the IPU.
Man praised Johnsson’s sincere and active support for Vietnam since he began his tenure at the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Hanoi in the 1980s and his leadership of the IPU, which contributed to the success of events Vietnam hosted for the 132nd IPU General Assembly.
Man said he hopes Johnsson will continue to share his valuable experience and help Vietnam fulfill its role within the IPU.
