They praised US President Joe Biden’s efforts to revive the G7 after an era of too many disagreements.  UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the vaccines will be distributed through COVAX and other mechanisms.

The World Health Organization said 11 billion doses will be needed to vaccinate 70% of the world’s population.

The G7 also pledged to provide more aid to countries hit hard by climate change, while phasing out investments in fossil fuels.

In a "Treaty on Nature" announced the same day, the leaders vowed to reduce carbon emissions by nearly half by 2030 (compared to 2010) and prevent further loss of biodiversity.
