Delegates discussed boosting the role of culture in development policies on national, regional, and global scales. They pledged  to ensure that cultural diversity is preserved and promoted as a key part of sustainable development.

Cultural diversity is a crucial factor in fully realizing human rights, elevating the status and participation of women in society, and fostering social cohesion and harmony, according to Bui Hoai Son, standing member of the National Assembly's Education and Culture Committee.

"It’s necessary to integrate cultural diversity as a strategic component in national and international development policies and the implementation of the UN’s sustainable development goals," said Mr. Son.

Mr. Son said young parliamentarians are pivotal figures within every parliament, representing the future generation of lawmakers.

"When they all come together with a common goal of promoting cultural diversity, they can work together effectively to protect our culture in this era of digital transformation," Son said.

"There are not only the digital economy, society, and citizens but also the whole aspect of digital culture, so if all these issues are addressed, we will successfully build a prosperous society," he added.

The Irish Parliamentary delegation suggested parliaments come up with practical and effective solutions to ensure cultural diversity. Irish Senator Emer Currie said that the Global Ireland Initiative is about increasing Ireland's presence from a diplomatic perspective and also bringing its culture to the world and supporting its diaspora and the many people that have migrated from Ireland to other parts of the world.

"We have a very pride culture and are very accepting of other people’s culture. So, from a political and parliamentarian point of view, it’s important that we live in an inclusive society. And that fundamentally means I’m accepting and being respectful of other people’s cultures and identity," Currie said.
