Google Doodle celebrates Vietnam’s National Day

(VOVWORLD) - An animated image of Vietnam's national flag flying against the blue sky is featured on the Google homepage’s Doodle to commemorate the country's National Day – September 2.

The image’s description read: “Google’s Doodle today celebrates Vietnam’s National Day! On this day in 1945, thousands of people gathered at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi to hear President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, marking the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam).”

During Vietnam’s National Day, Vietnamese people honor the contributions and sacrifices of their forefathers, who fought for the nation’s independence and freedom, and remind the current generation to carry on their legacy, according to Google.

Historical landmarks such as the Hanoi’s Old Quarter and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum are adorned with Vietnam’s national flag, as people immerse themselves in cultural activities and artists programs being held nationwide. Google’s description concludes with a congratulatory message for Vietnam.
