Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a government meeting on Monday to discuss the unilateral visa exemption policy, visa incentives for certain groups, and the reinstatement of Vietnamese nationality for overseas Vietnamese.

The Government’s Standing Committee emphasized the need to further improve Vietnam’s visa policy to drive socio-economic growth, boost tourism, and attract foreign investors and experts, promoting Vietnam’s image as a safe and welcoming destination and elevating Vietnam’s international status. The Government’s Standing Committee agreed on the need to streamline the process for overseas Vietnamese to reinstate their nationality which reflects the Party and State’s attention to the overseas community, meets their aspirations, and enhance their contributions to national development and defense, especially in the era of national rise.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked relevant agencies to gather feedback, conduct in-depth research, and propose necessary amendments to regulations and policies. These proposals will be submitted to the appropriate authorities for review and approval.
