The event celebrates Vietnam Heritage Day (November 23) and raises public awareness about environmental and biodiversity protection.

An exhibition entitled “Impressions of Vietnamese Natural Heritage Sites” will feature bio-diversity and show how local cultures and local livelihoods interact with the environment.

The week’s other activities include “Children with Natural Heritage” painting festival and a “Youth with Natural Heritage” contest.

Vo Cong Anh, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Exhibition and Information Center, said: “Through the exhibition on the Can Gio mangrove forest, we want to convey a message about the values of nature and life. During the wars, the forest was a revolutionary base and was almost completely ruined. But thanks to the determination and cooperation of the public and the authorities, the Can Gio mangrove forest has recovered. In 2000, it was recognized as a world biosphere reserve.”
