(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on Wednesday asked Hai Phong City to to identify its potential and advantages to foster development and achieve or surpass the 2024 targets.

Speaking at the 18th meeting of Hai Phong’s municipal People’s Council, Mr. Man urged Hai Phong to encourage all economic sectors to invest in socio-economic and cultural projects, with the goal of transforming Hai Phong into a livable, green, clean and beautiful city.
He underlined that the spirit of “dare to think and dare to do” will create drivers for development and will connect Hai Phong with international markets.
Also on Wednesday, NA Chairman Man worked with the Command of Military Region 3. He asked that Military Region 3 be active in national defense tasks, help people escape poverty, build new rural areas, and develop socio-cultural life, as well as prevent natural disasters and epidemics.
At a meeting with Hai Phong People’s Committee on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Man said: “At the 7th session, the National Assembly approved a Resolution on National marine space planning in the 2021-2030 period and a vision to 2050. Hai Phong should actively implement the Resolution and maximize its advantages of 125 km coastline and about 4,000 sq.km of sea area.”
NA Chairman Man asked Hai Phong to actively implement the city’s planning focusing on seaport-logistics services, green, smart, modern industry, and international marine tourism center; the triangle growth momentum of Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh, and improvement of the business investment environment, and administrative reform.
Also on Wednesday, he attended the inauguration of the Ben Rung Bridge on Da Bac river, connecting Thuy Nguyen district of Hai Phong city and Quang Yen town of Quang Ninh province.
