As of Wednesday afternoon, a preliminary report from Thai Nguyen confirmed 4 deaths, 2 missing persons, and 2 injuries. 200,000 homes have been inundated, 7,100 hectares of crops have been destroyed, and hundreds of thousands of livestock have been swept away. Many areas are still submerged, and families have been cut off by the floodwaters.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thai Nguyen has asked government agencies, local authorities, organizations, and individuals to help Thai Nguyen recover from the flood. Dinh Quang Tuyen, Chairman of the provincial Fatherland Front, said, “We are currently focused on moving residents to safer areas, handling water sanitation in flooded zones, and providing food and essentials to affected people. But we’re having trouble gathering food and supplies, as nearly every area is flooded.”

180-280 mm of rainfall reported in Lang Son over the past two days. The floodwaters of the Bac Khe river, reported to be the "largest ever recorded," caused the collapse of the Bac Khe 1 hydropower dam. 800 households were evacuated to safety shortly before the disaster occurred.

Rainfall of 100-200 mm in Cao Bang over the past two days caused flooding along the Bằng and Hiến river, inundated houses, and damaged 5,000 hectares of rice and other crops. Several sections of national and provincial roads were damaged, hampering transportation.
