(VOVworld) – An Indian culture week will begin in Ho Chi Minh City next Thursday.

Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Preesi Saran said at yesterday’s press conference:“The festival is being organized to celebrate India-Vietnam friendship following the soon after successful visit by the honorable General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong to India last November. The honorable Secretary's visit elevated our strategic partnership with Vietnam to a higher level. The festival week of India also celebrates our historical and civilizational linkages with Vietnam”.

The event will feature an exhibition on Buddhism, a food festival, the Mehendi art of painting hands, and India’s traditional dances. The Indian culture week will also be held in Hanoi and Da Nang.
