HP to increase investment in Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - HP plans to increase its production capacity in Vietnam to 2-3 billion USD, Antoine Colin, HP’s Senior Vice President for Global Digital Transformation and Supply Chain, said at a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi on Friday.

He emphasized that Vietnam is a key market for HP, which is currently partnering with more than 40 local suppliers.

PM Chinh reaffirmed the Vietnamese Government’s strong commitment to supporting foreign investors through continued institutional reforms to ensure lawful and effective business operations.

He encouraged HP to further expand its investment and promote cooperation from other US businesses, especially in strategic areas such as high technology, sustainable development, and artificial intelligence.

The PM also called on HP to advocate for balanced US tariff policies, noting that Vietnam’s National Assembly and Government are working to improve the legal framework and remove barriers for investors in line with international standards.

The HP executive expressed confidence that Vietnam and the US would reach a mutually beneficial solution on trade issues. He reaffirmed HP’s commitment to expanding its footprint in Vietnam while supporting innovation, technology transfer, and the development of a strong supply chain and business ecosystem in the region.
