Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Hue municipal People’s Committee, told the event in Phu Vang district: “To develop Hue city into a heritage, cultural, ecological, scenic, environmentally friendly, and smart urban center, the local authorities have initiated several activities and movements to make Hue greener, cleaner, and more beautiful."

"The ‘Green Sunday’ initiative has made Hue a national model in environmental protection. Other community models, such as ‘Hue city of four flower seasons ’, ‘A clear and clean Huong River,’ and ‘60 minutes for a clean house and a beautiful road,’ have engaged citizens in keeping green, clean, and beautiful surroundings,” said Phuong.

Following the event, about 1,000 officials, youth union members, local residents, and border soldiers participated in a cleanup walk with the message “Green footprints, plastic-free seas.”
