(VOVWORLD) - The Hue Festival 2020 will open on August 26, two days ahead of schedule, and run until August 31, the organizing board has announced.

The biennial festival was initially scheduled for April, then postponed to August 28 due to the coronavirus pandemic, then adjusted to August 26 in consideration of celebrations of the 75th National Day (September 2) and 60 years of Hanoi – Hue – Saigon relations for which Hue will be the live broadcast point.
Huynh Tien Dat, Director of the Hue Festival Centre, said: “The participation of foreign art troupes at this year’s festival is limited. Still, it promises to showcase Vietnam’s finest traditional culture and contemporary arts in Vietnam and around the world.”
The festival will draw art troupes from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Lao Cai, and Dak Lak.
