The highlight of the festival will be an art performance during the opening ceremony, which will recreate Pho Hien’s prosperity in the past and show Hung Yen city’s progress toward the future. Other activities will include rituals to pay tribute to ancestors, a palanquin procession, a dragon dance, folk games such as tug-of-war and cock fighting, and folk arts like Xam singing (ballads sung by wandering blind musicians) and A Dao singing (an ancient entertainment performed in the royal palace).
