India: Heat wave death toll rises

(VOVworld) – Indian media said that, as of Thursday, the number of deaths due to the current heat wave is more than 1,800 people, including 414 people in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the last two days.

Several Indian states have been suffering from current deadly heat waves. 

The death toll in Andhra Pradesh is 1,334. The death toll in Telangana is 440 people, in Odisah 43 people, in Gujarat 7 people, and in Delhi 2 people.
India’s Meteorological Department said the heat wave will continue for the next few days in several states, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Utta Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Low hills in the state of Humachal Pradesh, which normally have cool weather, are also experiencing a heat wave. Una City is forecast to have the highest temperature of 43.2 DC.
The temperature in Delhi on Thursday decreased to 41.4 DC, but it’s still higher than previous years.
The temperature in Haryana and Punjab will fluctuate between 41 and 44 DC.
