The Republic of Korea offers an emergency aid package worth 1 million USD to support post-storm emergency response activities. Through the International Organization for Migration in Vietnam, the aid will be used to help people who were forced to relocate or evacuate and communities affected by major storms in northern Vietnam in late September.
On Friday, the British Embassy in Vietnam announced that the UK Government has approved an additional more than 390,000 USD for humanitarian relief efforts in central Vietnam following recent storms and floods. This amount, together with the 650,000 USD provided in October, brings the UK's total emergency support this year to more than 1 million USD.
The additional aid will be delivered through UNICEF in coordination with the Vietnam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority (VDDMA).
