Scholars will present potentially peaceful and cooperative approaches to the issue, in line with the United Nations Charter, international law and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC). Assoc. Prof. Dr Phung Xuan Nha, Director of the Hanoi National University, addressed the seminar: "This seminar aims to seek new approaches to existing issues in the East Sea, which have been of great concern of many people. Scholars will present peaceful and cooperative approaches to the issue, in line with the United Nations Charter, international law and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC).  It’s the international community’s solidarity and common voice that could force violators to respect international law."

The two-day event is co-organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Hanoi National University and the German political foundation Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.
