International workshop on sea and island culture

(VOVworld) – An international workshop on promoting the values of sea and island culture opened in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province on Monday. Participants discussed the diversity of sea and island culture in Vietnam and around the world, the importance of sea and island culture to Vietnam’s sovereignty, and the preservation of sea and island culture today.

Vu Minh Giang, Vice Chairman of the National Council for Cultural Heritage, said: “Culture is the factor behind a country’s sustainable sovereignty. We need to clarify values of sea and island culture, which creates the basis for our sea and island development and defense strategies.”
