Vietnam Sea and Islands Culture and Tourism Week kicks off

(VOVworld) – A Friday art show at the Vietnam Culture and Arts Exhibition Centre in Hanoi kicked off the Vietnam Sea and Islands Culture and Tourism Week. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien spoke at the opening ceremony:“The celebration aims to promote the unique values of Vietnam’s sea and islands to both people in Vietnam and around the world while attracting investment for cultural and economic development in coastal areas. It is expected to enhance people’s patriotism and their awareness, contributing to national sustainable development, construction and defense."

On this occasion, 13 provinces and cities will introduce the beauty of their cultural and relic sites, festivals and daily activities. Phan Van Tu, Director of the Quang Nam provincial Tourism Promotion Center, said: "We will introduce the typical tourism features of our sea and islands including Hoi An town, My Son sanctuary, and the world biosphere reserve Cham island. We’ll also brief of visitors on famous local sea resorts, special sea products and traditional craft villages. This event is of great political importance, contributing to asserting Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty."
